Hunt The Front Super Dirt Series
HTF Series Finalizes 2025 Schedule with Southern Raceway Doubleheader Sept. 26-27
MILTON, Fla. (Jan. 20) — The 2025 Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series schedule is now complete, as Southern Raceway in Milton, Fla., has been confirmed as the host of the tour’s Sept. 26-27 weekend doubleheader. This exciting addition finalizes the tour’s 2025 lineup, which features 23 races at 15 tracks across eight different states as competitors chase the tour’s $50,000 championship prize.
The series will make its first-ever appearance at Southern Raceway’s 3/8-mile oval for one of the biggest Super Late Model events in the track’s history. Featuring an $8,000-to-win program on Friday, Sept. 26, and a $12,000-to-win show on Saturday, Sept. 27, the doubleheader will play a pivotal role in the tour’s championship chase as the final races before the series crowns its champion during the $35,000-to-win Blue-Gray 100 at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C., Oct. 11-12.
Opened in 1988 and continuously operated since, Southern Raceway played a prominent role in the early days of the historic Hav-a-Tampa Racing Series. Helping set the foundation for what would eventually grow into Dirt Late Model racing’s first national tour, Southern was one of only 12 tracks to host the tour in its inaugural season in 1990, with Larry Lambeth of Flomaton, Ala., taking the win. Lambeth repeated his victory when the series returned to Southern in 1991, and Phil Coltrane of Free Home, Ga., won the tour’s final appearance at the track in 1992.
In more recent years, Southern has been a regular host of the Southern All Stars Series, with 17 events held there since 2017. Notable winners include hometown driver Joseph Joiner (six wins), Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Ga., (three wins) and G.R. Smith of Cornelius, N.C., (two wins). The track’s highest-paying Super Late Model race to date was a $20,000-to-win unsanctioned event won by Brandon Overton of Evans, Ga., in 2021.
Known as “The South’s Finest 3/8-Mile Dirt Track,” Southern Raceway’s addition to the HTF Series schedule brings the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series to fans in the Florida Panhandle and nearby southern Alabama for a major late-season showdown, offering drivers another significant opportunity to earn points in their chase for the $50,000 championship.
The 2025 HTF Series season kicks off Jan. 27-28 with back-to-back $10,000-to-win non-points events at Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, Ga. The chase for the series championship officially begins March 8 at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tenn., with a $20,000-to-win main event.
