Wet Weather Cuts South Georgia Showdown to Single-Day Show on Tuesday

NORMAN PARK, Ga. (Jan. 27, 2025) — Persistent rain throughout the day at Needmore Speedway, combined with a forecast for continued precipitation into the evening, has forced the cancellation of the opening night of the South Georgia Showdown for the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series.

Monday’s program will not be rescheduled, however, Tuesday’s show remains on as planned featuring a $10,000-to-win feature for HTF Series Super Late Models and a $2,000-to-win feature for the IMCA STARS Mod Lites Series.

Fans who purchased presale tickets for Monday’s event will receive a refund automatically online.

Additionally, a non-qualifiers race for the STARS Mod Lites Series has been added to Tuesday’s program that will pay $200 to win and $100 to each starter.

Pit gates will open at 3 pm Eastern time Tuesday, with general admission gates opening at 5. The drivers meeting will be at 6:30 with hot laps scheduled to start at 7 and racing to follow.

For those unable to attend Tuesday’s race in person, every lap will be broadcast live on Hunt the Front TV.
