Ferguson Captures $10k HTF Series Win at Swainsboro
SWAINSBORO, Ga. (May 19) — Taking command after an opening 23 laps that saw five lead changes among four drivers, fourth-starting Carson Ferguson of Lincolnton, N.C., controlled the second half of Friday's 50-lap feature at Swainsboro Raceway to earn a $10,000 victory on the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series presented by Sweet Victory Apparel.
Wil Herrington of Hawkinsville, Ga., rallied from 13th to finish second, just ahead of second-starting Joseph Joiner of Milton, Fla. Payton Freeman of Commerce, Ga., advanced from 11th to finish fourth while Trey Mills of St. Augustine, Fla., took fifth after leading laps 17-22.
Polesitter Sam Seawright of Fort Payne, Ala., and third-starting Zack Mitchell of Enoree, S.C., battled back and forth for the lead early in the race before both drivers ran into trouble. Mitchell tangled with a lap car and retired from the race on lap 15, and Seawright spun while battling Mills on lap 23.
