Baggett Rallies for HTF Victory at Whynot
WHYNOT, Miss (June 24) — Defending his home turf in dramatic fashion, seventh-starting Neil Baggett of Columbus, Miss., led the final seven laps of Saturday's Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series feature at Whynot Motorsports Park to earn a $5,000 victory.
Baggett used the high side of Whynot's third-mile oval to overtake Payton Freeman for the lead on lap 34 of the 40-lapper and never looked back on his way to winning by 1.471 seconds. Freeman settled for second after leading laps 32 and 33 with Josh Putnam of Florence, Ala., third. Wil Herrington of Hawkinsville, Ga., and Kyle Beard of Trumann, Ark., rounded out the top five finishers.
