Mother Nature Claims North Georgia's Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series Event
CHATSWORTH, Ga. (Aug. 21) — Officials with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series and North Georgia Speedway have announced the cancellation of Saturday’s series event due to saturated grounds at the track from heavy rainfall over the past two weeks, combined with forecasts calling for more rain Friday and Saturday. With no optimal makeup date available, the event will not be rescheduled.
Flooding rainfall in the area last week left the facility and racing surface already heavily saturated. Additional rain this week has further complicated the track staff’s efforts to prepare both the racing surface and the facility for the event, and with more precipitation expected in the forecast, officials determined conditions would not be suitable for a quality event for fans or racers.
The Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series will now shift its focus to its first-ever visit to Southern Raceway in Milton, Fla., where series competitors will race for $8,000 to win on Friday, Sept. 26 and $12,000 on Saturday, Sept. 27.
