Hunt The Front Super Dirt Series
Cherokee Speedway’s Oct. 10-11 Blue-Gray 100 Expands to $8,000-to-win on Friday and $35,000-to-win on Saturday to Decide $50,000 HTF Championship
MILTON, Fla. (Sept. 9, 2025) — Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series officials have announced an expansion for the tour’s Championship Weekend set for Oct. 10-11 as part of the 35th annual Blue-Gray 100 at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C. Originally planned as a single event split over two days and paying $35,000 to the winner, the weekend will now be run as a doubleheader weekend with two complete race programs that will decide the $50,000 Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series championship.
The event on Friday, Oct. 10 will be a complete program featuring a 30-lap feature paying $8,000 to the winner while the Blue-Gray 100 on Saturday, Oct. 11 will be another complete show culminating in a 100-lap, $35,000-to-win feature. Both races will award full HTF Series points and will also count toward Cherokee Speedway’s Cherokee Chief Series, a six-race mini-series hosted at the historic track and promoted by Hunt the Front.
The change comes after the HTF Series lost its seventh event of the season to inclement weather with the rainout of the Aug. 23 race at North Georgia Speedway. Restructuring the Cherokee weekend into two separate races will allow the series to make up one of its lost dates, while also allowing fans to enjoy back-to-back nights of full racing programs and drivers to benefit from more than $30,000 in increased weekend payouts over the original single-event format.
In addition to the adjustment to the Blue-Gray 100 weekend, the Sept. 20 Stick Elliot Memorial at Cherokee that was originally scheduled to be co-sanctioned by Hunt the Front’s Cherokee Chief Series and the Carolina Clash Series will now be sanctioned only by Carolina Clash. The Friday night race of the Blue-Gray weekend will take the cancelled event’s place in the Cherokee Chief points chase. Additionally, Carolina Clash will co-sanction the Cherokee Chief Series finale—the inaugural Freddy Smith Memorial on Sunday, Nov. 16.
Complete event details, including ticket prices, purses, local divisions, and more, for all three Super Late Model events remaining at Cherokee Speedway this season will be announced in the coming days.
The Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series will return to action with a doubleheader weekend at Southern Raceway in Milton, Fla., Sept. 26-27, before heading to Cherokee Speedway for the season-ending championship weekend.
