HTF Series Issues Penalties to Cory Hedgecock and Michael Page Following On-Track Incident and Physical Altercation at Senoia Raceway
MILTON, Fla. (July 8) — The Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series has announced penalties for drivers Cory Hedgecock and Michael Page following an on-track incident and subsequent physical altercation that occurred during the HTF Series event held at Senoia Raceway on Saturday, July 5.
The conflict followed two separate racing incidents involving the two drivers. The first occurred during the night’s heat races, when contact between the drivers resulted in Hedgecock getting into the turn-two wall. The second came on the final lap of the feature, when additional contact in turns three and four resulted in Page hitting the outside wall. Both cars were able to continue after each incident, and series officials judged both to be racing incidents that required no intervention.
However, tensions escalated during the cooldown lap following the feature, as Page began aggressively maneuvering around the racetrack in an apparent effort to reach Hedgecock’s car. Recognizing the situation, race control issued multiple warnings via Raceceiver communication to Page, instructing him not to initiate any contact with Hedgecock and making it clear that doing so would result in immediate disqualification. Despite these clear directives, Page ignored the warnings and deliberately rammed the left rear of Hedgecock’s car in turn one, then pushed it around turn two and onto the back straightaway before it turned sideways, went nose-first into the backstretch wall, and nearly overturned.
With Hedgecock’s car perched on Page’s hood, both drivers exited their vehicles and engaged in a physical altercation. Several of Page’s crewmembers then entered the racetrack from the infield pit area and joined the altercation, despite efforts by multiple track and series officials to stop them.
Per Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series rules, Page was immediately disqualified from the event for making deliberate and dangerous contact with another competitor after the race had ended. The disqualification resulted in the loss of the $1,900 in purse winnings Page would have received for finishing sixth in the feature.
Additionally, following a thorough review of the post-race incident, the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series has issued the following penalties. As a DIRTcar-sanctioned series, these penalties extend to DIRTcar-sanctioned and World Racing Group-affiliated events:
Michael Page, identified as the primary aggressor due to initiating the post-race contact that led to the physical confrontation, is:
- Fined $1,000 for fighting.
- Fined an additional $1,000 due to his crew members entering the racetrack and participating in the altercation.
- Suspended from competition in HTF Series, DIRTcar, and World Racing Group events for 30 days due to the accumulation of infractions (contact after the race, fighting, and crew members entering the track and fighting).
- Placed on probation with both the HTF Series and DIRTcar through the end of the 2025 season.
Cory Hedgecock was found to have escalated the situation by physically engaging in the altercation rather than seeking to disengage. He is:
- Fined $1,000 for fighting.
- Placed on probation with both the HTF Series and DIRTcar through the end of the 2025 season.
All fines must be paid in full before either driver is eligible to return to competition with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series, DIRTcar, or World Racing Group.
